In December 2009, Crown will open an extension to the Crown Conference Centre, Australia’s only purpose-built hotel convention facility. The Crown Conference Centre currently caters for large residential conferences, meetings, product launches and exhibitions. The spectacular extension will enable the centre to cater for conferences up to 840 delegates with 20 concurrent rooms, all on one site. The centre’s clean, modern design provides the ideal backdrop for any conference and boasts an abundance of natural light in all breakout rooms. Together with a flexible layout, the latest in audio-visual technology such as wireless Internet connections, data technology, web-casting and video conferencing facilities, the Crown Conference Centre will set a new benchmark for conference venues in Australia. When guests are looking for the right accommodation during a conference, guests can’t go past Crown’s luxury hotels. Crown’s three hotels offer state of the art luxury and technology. Crown Metropol, Crown Towers and Crown Promenade Hotel will cater for the needs of all conference delegates. Crown’s newest hotel, Crown Metropol, set to open in early 2010, will boast a resident spa facility, the first of its kind in Melbourne and be home to Gordon Ramsay’s MAZE restaurant. Crown Metropol’s, Isika and Crown Towers’ Crown Spa can tailor make a package to suit the needs of all guests. Isika will be home to Melbourne’s only sky-high resident day spa. The stunning new spa will offer guests an unparalleled level of luxury not previously available in Melbourne. Guests of Isika spa may choose to reside in one of the exclusive residential spa accommodation rooms located on level 26, giving them the utmost in privacy and relaxation with direct access via a private, spiral staircase to the spa floor above. Crown Spa’s most popular and most requested treatment is massage. Over 10,000 massages are performed each year at Crown Spa by a team of dedicated massage therapists for women and men. Massages are available from $95.00 up to $345.00 for a two hour aromatherapy massage conducted in the privacy of a luxurious deluxe pampering suite at Crown Spa. One of the best aspects of attending a conference at Crown is that the excitement and luxurious surrounds don’t stop after the conference. The Crown Complex has an abundance of activities to suit every conference delegates needs including bars, premium restaurants and nightlife. The place to unwind after a long week is Nobu Melbourne. Every Friday Nobu hosts Aperitivo, during which guests are invited to enjoy complimentary canapés from 5pm to 7pm when any signature cocktail or house wine is purchased. This is the perfect way to sample some of the dishes that made Nobu the institution it is today. In Japan, it is traditional for office workers and city dwellers to enjoy sake, beer and cocktails on Friday evenings to celebrate the end of the working week. The thirst quenching drinks are often accompanied by small dishes of sushi, oysters and more. Nobu Matsuhisa himself launched the restaurant’s new weekly event during his latest visit to Australia’s only Nobu outpost. To those in the know, Le Bar, the basement sibling of Bistro Guillaume is the private and secluded venue in which to enjoy premium French Champagne accompanied by Guillaume Brahimi’s decadent bite size morsels. Diners may choose from a selection of 10 dishes, each priced at $12.00 each. Le Bar boasts an extensive cocktail list, French Champagne selection and draught 1664 Kronenbourg. Le Bar’s subterranean location, luxurious decor designed by Hecker Phelan and Guthrie and intimate mood lighting, paired with the tailored menus and oh‐so comfortable banquette or bar seating, make Le Bar the ideal place to drink. Nobu and Le Bar are by far the trendiest places to be seen at for an after conference drink and social catch up. Premium restaurants are plentiful at Crown. Guests can treat themselves to world class Japanese at upmarket Nobu and Koko, modern Australian at Breezes and Number 8 restaurant and wine bar, five star French at the brasserie by Philippe Mouchel and mouth-watering Cantonese cuisine at Silks. Along with premium restaurants, glamorous bars and nightlife, Crown has other activities to suit different tastes such as the Village cinemas and world famous poker rooms, where many a celebrity has been known to try their skills. Since its opening, Crown has dealt more than 14.5 million hands of Poker.
