Paul Byham
General Manager of Supply Chain, Foodbank SA & NT
Paul Byham oversees the sourcing, storage and distribution of food relief across South Australia and the Northern Territory, including ambient, chilled, fresh and frozen products moving through Foodbank’s nine warehouses and 13 Food Hubs.
Foodbank SA & NT supports more than 1,000 community agencies and 600 school food relief programs. Paul will share how Foodbank’s supply chain operates, the growing demand for food relief and the particular challenges involved in safely transporting temperature-critical food into regional and remote communities.
Before joining Foodbank in 2023, Paul spent 17 years with Metcash in state and national roles supporting independent retailers. His experience gives him a strong understanding of the food supply chain from producers through to the end consumer.
Paul has focused on improving safety, strengthening food sourcing and increasing supply chain efficiency, with the goal of getting the most good food to the most people in need.
This session will provide valuable insight into how the cold chain and Foodbank work together, while highlighting opportunities for refrigerated warehouse, transport and supply chain businesses to provide further support.
