2026 Workforce Planning Updates and Transport Supply Chain Workforce Outlook released
Industry Skills Australia has released the 2026 Workforce Planning Updates and the Transport Supply Chain Workforce Outlook, both accepted by the Department of Employment and Workplace Relations (DEWR).
The two publications reflect close collaboration between industry, unions and government to strengthen workforce capability and lift productivity across Australia's transport supply chain.
The Updates build on the 2025 Workforce Plans, setting out priorities for the Aviation, Maritime, Rail, and Transport and Logistics industries. They report on industry-led progress and outline future action to build a more skilled, agile and resilient workforce.
The Outlook looks at the sector's national significance and the pressures it shares across industries, including an ageing workforce, rapid technological change, rising infrastructure demand and increasing fuel costs, all of which affect productivity, resilience and the sector's ability to support economic growth.
