We came across this great reminder from Ray Hodge (RWTA Member!) and thought it was well worth sharing. Sometimes the simplest productivity advice is the easiest to forget:
Someone I was working with this past week mentioned they had been concentrating on something important when an email alert appeared.
They opened it.
Two hours later, they realised they had been sidetracked.
Alerts are an invitation to distraction, inviting us to delay what we are currently doing.
A simple message, but one that probably sounds familiar to many of us!
