Foodbank’s newly released Hunger Report 2026 highlights the ongoing challenge of food insecurity across Australia, with one in three households — approximately 3.6 million — experiencing food insecurity in the past 12 months.
The report reveals that food insecurity disproportionately affects households with children, single-parent families, people impacted by disability or health issues, low-income households and First Nations communities. It also highlights how cost-of-living pressures are forcing many Australians to cut back on everyday essentials and social activities.
The findings reinforce the importance of continued collaboration and support to help Australians experiencing food insecurity.
In 2026, the Refrigerated Warehouse and Transport Association (RWTA), on behalf of the Australian cold chain, is proud to have donated $25,000 to Foodbank to assist people experiencing food insecurity across Australia.
RWTA is proud to support Foodbank’s work and contribute to efforts to help individuals and families access the food they need.
